Prop Firm Consistency Rules
Evaluation vs Funded

The only comparison that separates the consistency rule during your evaluation from the rule on your funded account - because for most firms, they are completely different.

Last updated: June 28, 2026

What is a prop firm consistency rule?

A consistency rule limits how much of your total profit can come from a single trading day. If your best day represents more than the firm's cap (commonly between 20% and 50%), you cannot pass the evaluation or request a payout until you spread more profit across other days.

The key detail most comparisons miss: a firm can apply the rule only in evaluation, only when funded, in both phases, or not at all. The table below shows the exact cap for each phase, firm by firm and plan by plan.

"None" means there is no consistency requirement in that phase. A percentage is the maximum share of total profit your single best day is allowed to represent.

How the consistency rule is calculated

Every firm uses the same underlying math, only the cap percentage changes.

Your consistency percentage is your single best day divided by your total profit:

Largest Single Day Profit ÷ Total Profit = Consistency %

You stay compliant as long as that percentage is at or below your plan's cap.

Example: on a 50% plan, you hit a $1,500 best day and your total profit is $2,000. That is 75% from one day, which breaks the rule. You keep trading until your total reaches $3,000, bringing your best day down to exactly 50%. The rule never forces you to give back profit - it just delays the pass or payout until the ratio is met.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lucid Trading have a consistency rule?
It depends on the account. LucidPro has no consistency rule during the evaluation and a 40% cap once funded (checked per payout cycle and reset after each payout). LucidFlex is the opposite: a 50% cap during the evaluation and no rule at all once funded.
Does Apex have a consistency rule?
Apex applies no consistency rule during the evaluation. On the funded account, both the Intraday and EOD plans use a 50% cap on your single best day.
Which prop firms have no consistency rule at all?
Right now only one plan has no consistency requirement in either phase: Phidias ETL. Several other plans drop the rule in just one phase - for example Lucid Flex, Tradeify Select, and all TradeDay plans have no rule once funded.
What is the difference between evaluation and funded consistency?
The evaluation rule controls whether you can pass the challenge and reach a funded account. The funded rule controls whether you can request a payout. Many firms enforce one but not the other, which is why a single "has a consistency rule" answer is misleading.
Does My Funded Futures have a consistency rule?
The Flex, Rapid, and Pro plans use a 50% cap during the evaluation and no rule once funded. The Builder plan is the reverse: no rule in evaluation and a 50% cap once funded.
Does Tradeify have a consistency rule?
The Growth plan has no rule in evaluation and a 35% cap once funded. The Select plan has a 40% cap in evaluation and no rule once funded.
Does TradeDay have a consistency rule?
TradeDay applies the rule only during the evaluation. Intraday and EOD use a 30% cap, and FastPass uses a 45% cap. None of the funded accounts have a consistency rule.
What happens if I break the consistency rule?
It is almost always a soft breach, not an account failure. You simply cannot pass the evaluation or request the payout until you add more profit on other days and bring your best day back under the cap. You never have to give back the profit you already made.
